I had to give my dog away. I had no choice. It might seem like an easy choice, but the unique circumstances makes this choice even more unfortunate for all involved. My little girl was hurt. She, in 2 seconds, went from pretty/laughing/playing/loving little her, to bloddy/screaming/terrified/betrayed little her. Our family dog hurt her, somehow... she was falling/tripping over him and he turned his head and a tooth cut her open right between the eyes... down the middle of her nose about an inch and a half long. Even the doctors said it was extremely unlikely that he 'bit' her, by the wound and circumstances at the time, which we all witnessed... ... all of us. The hospital put 5 stitches in my 4 year old twin daughter's face, and the police took my dog to the basement of my local p.d., with my consent. 'Sergeant' He was a Rotweiller, almost 2 years old. He had been in our family since he was 5 weeks and has never shown anything but love to our family and friends. But mg, you should see her face... although there was another child in my area who was 'attacked' by a stray. Much worse than my child, but horrific none the less. I find that I don't place blame on him, or her. This is difficult.
